How it works
It’s dead easy. Find a tutor, get in touch using our secure website, arrange a lesson, top up your minutes and get started using our very clever online tutoring classroom.
Who it works for
Online tutoring suits anyone studying inside or outside formal education. Our customers include everyone from those at school or univerisity through to home schoolers, overseas students and adult learners.
Your chance to be part of our online masterclasses. The timetable of masterclasses covers all the main topics and revision which we know students look for help with.
Led by academic experts, this is your chance to learn from a leading light without having to leave home.
Unlike video masterclasses, it’s just like being in a lecture hall. You can ask questions, be part of a discussion, and access the notes electronically afterwards. But you can do it all in your pyjamas, without having to leave home. Register your interest and we’ll keep you informed of what’s happening when.
Ask a question
Our free-to-use Q&A hub lets students ask questions of other students and tutors. All you have to do is ask a question and then wait to see what the online community has to say.
Hey! Could anyone help me with this question? It would be much appreciated, thank you!

Basic lists Make a program that lets a user input a series of names into a list. The program should then ask the user whether they want to print out the list in the original order, or in reverse. Extensions: 1. Enable the user to choose what number item in the list they want to print out 2. Enable the user to only print out a ‘slice’ of the list (eg item three to item nine only) 3. Enable the user to remove any items of the list that they want to 4. Enable the user to save their list to a file for later, and also enable them to load it back up again too 5. ‘Clean’ the list by making all the items lowercase.
Averages Make a program that asks the user for a series of numbers until they either want to output the average or quit the program. Extensions: 1. Expand the program to print the median and mode averages also 2. Include options so that if the user wants to, they can save their list of numbers to a text file and read them back out later on.

To improve your grade from a B to an A your exam answer must be in depth and concise. A B grade student will include key terminology that will earn marks for knowledge; however, an A grade student would take this a step further and define the key terminology within their answer to portray knowledge and understanding, which will subsequently earn them more marks. Furthermore, a B grade student will answer the question adequately, yet they may not illustrate outstanding understanding of a concept to be in the top bands. To improve upon this one may use a paragraph structure known as: PEEL. P: point. E: example. E: explanation. L: link. This simple structure will enable you to earn marks for your application, and for your knowledge. This technique will also allow one to answer the question properly, as it is easy for students to lose track of what is actually being asked from them. The explanation part should dominate the paragraph as it is significant for the student to include relevant theoretical perspectives. This differentiates a B grade student from an A grade student.
