Hello Carole, I think what you actually need is a tutor who understands Dyslexia and the obstacles to learning that students with this challenge are facing. I have tutored students with Dyslexia before from Secondary level right up to Uni level and have taken training courses. (My own daughter attended Uni and is dyslexic.) Do let me know if you need any input into memory, special revising techniques and advice on getting things down on paper under time pressure. I'd love to help you make a success of it! :)Mrs T

How do I do well in History, I find it a bit hard...although I am not doing it for GSCE!!!

SQA Advanced higher History essay

I have an essay given to me to do as homework and the question is :

"why did the Papacy play such a dominant role in the High Renaissance?'

But I'm struggling to find points to talk about. Obviously there is more than one factor and I can't seem to figure them out. The only one i could think of is the papal patronage of art.

Study Tips for History

My 12 year old son is due to take a test on Monday in History. We always struggle to identify the main points to revise as there seem to be many. The eras he will be tested on is the Cycladic, Minoan and Mycenean civilisations. Is there a certain set of questions we can set about asking when reading history that will help us to extract main points on a general level and retain them for revision? Infact, any revision/study tips will be most welcomed.
