Take 2x in the left hand side to the right hand side 0 = 4x - 2x;2x =0only possible solution will be x = 0.

Hi Rose,This is a bit of a trick question so I'm not surprised it's tripped you up.The left hand side (LHS) of the equation, 2x, must be equal to the right hand side (RHS) of the equation, 4x.So if we were to subtract '2x' from both the LHS and the RHS then we should still be left with equal amounts. i.e.2x = 4x-2x   -2x0 = 2xNow it might be a bit more obvious what x is. But for the sake of clarity, let us express the equation 'in terms of x' (this just means it says x = ...). I have 2x on the RHS and I want just x (or 1x). So I will divide by 2. And of course I must do this to both sides.0 = 2x/2   /20 = x     or     x = 0I hope that helped :)

This problem can be having 2 probabilities:1. If x of the both the sides is variable then, the answer will be 02x-4x=0-2x=0x=02. If x of both the sides is not variable (assume as x,y) the answer will be as follows:x=2y ( after dividing with 2)x:y=2:1

2X = 4X 4X - 2X = 0 (taking 2X on other side)2X = 0=> X = 0.So the Value of X is ‘0’

2x=4x so 2x-4x=0 2x common factor so 2x(1-2)=0so X=0

2X = 4X lets reverse it 4X - 2X = 0 , moving 2x or other side or equal sign2X = 0=> X = 0.So the Value of X is ‘0’
