If you are planning to write persuasive text for an advertisement for example, think about: describing the product and it's features (e.g. size and colour), the benefits of the product, its price, any special offers and the 'call to action' (e.g. call this number to buy).

If you're writing to persuade it's good to use what we call 'imperatives' e.g. you MUST vote for Party X in the upcoming elections in order to ensure a fairer future. Or life will be better when all of us choose to spend more time volunteering.

When you're writing to persuade you often focus on the positives of your argument and discredit the arguments that oppose you for example, teenagers should be allowed to have mobile phones in school because it means that they can contact their parents easily if they needed to and those who say that we shouldn't are just infringing our human rights.
