Hi Brinna147, the quotation you posted translated into modern, everyday English would read something like this: 'this is the worst case of untrustworthy behaviour I have ever seen'. 'Ripe' can be used to mean 'full of', as can 'rank' (but rank also has a meaning of unpleasant). Hope that's helpful for you.
