Ionic Nomenclature

Can you explain the process of changing nomenclature formulas? Also, I have a hard time understanding a lot of the polyatomic ions and the rules if the suffix is -ide, -ate, or -ite.

Here's a hint: there are two types of nomenclature because of the two types of bonds: ionic and covalent. Ionic means the bond is between a metal and a non-metal, while covalent means the bond is between two non-metals. Message me if you have more questions :)
