(X-2) OVER 3+1 =X OVER 7 can be mathematically written as((x-2)/3)+1=(x/7)(x/3)-(x/7)=(2/3)-14x/21=-1/3x=-7/4

(x-2)/3+1=x/7. Then multiply both sides of the equation by the LCM (lowest common multiple) of the denominators of the fraction (3 and 7) so 21. We now have, 7x-14+21=3x7x+7=3x4x=-7x=-7/4
