the degree measure of the larger of two supplementary angle is 30 less than twice that of the smalle

Answers
Supplementary angles add up to 180. So, if we call the larger of the 2 angles Y and the smaller one X, we have Y + X = 180 From the other info in this case, Y would be equal to 30 less than 2 lots of the other angle, so from this we also now know that Y = 2X - 30. Now, if we combine the 2 equations, using Y + X = 180, re arranging it to get X = 180 - Y and then substituting it into Y = 2(180 - Y) - 30 we can rearrange this new formula to get; Y = 360 - 2Y - 30 Y + 2Y = 360 - 30 3Y = 330 Y = 330/3 Y = 110 So, the larger of the 2 angles is 110 degrees.
