My name is Alex. I have just completed an MA in Italian Cultural Studies at UCL with a distinction. I graduated in French and Italian Studies at the University of Warwick in 2012, after which I went on to gain my TESOL qualification to teach English as a Foreign Language. I love sharing my knowledge of languages with anyone and everyone (be that my own mother tongue, or a foreign language I have learnt). I am a gentle, understanding and motivated tutor. I have spent nearly three years living and teaching in Italy, and have also spent significant time in France.
I am very empathetic and sensitive to the needs of students with low confidence. I have acquired over seven years' experience working in the field of youth empowerment supporting the UK's most disadvantaged young people onto employability programmes. What's more, I have worked for one of the world's top rated universities in their Widening Participation department, supporting young people that are often underrepresented at university.
I have a good knowledge of university requirements and application processes.
