I am a native Russian and English speaker, able to teach in both languages. Having attended a competitive secondary school I learned the importance of performing well under pressure and maintaining work at a high standard. This is something I always try to incorporate in my lessons, by giving timed assignments and tasks that test and push the abilities of my students. However, I also recognise that each student has individual needs and ways of learning, and I am lucky to be able to use my four years of previous experience tutoring Chemistry, Biology and English to know how to tailor my lessons to each student. I recognise that it is crucial when it comes to difficult subjects such as the sciences to spark an interest and desire to learn the material. I firmly believe that having been in the same situation not so long ago myself, the key to doing well is to enjoy learning in an environment that is a good mix of fun and challenging whilst maintaining a good contact with the teacher. I have a great passion for Chemistry and Biology in particular, which is why I am currently in my second year at King's College London studying Neuroscience. I can safely say that I decided to pursue this career because I had an amazing teacher who had my best interests at heart and supported my needs when teaching me. I intent to pass on this kind of trust and inspiration to anyone I tutor, because I truly believe it can instil a lifelong passion to study the subjects we take at a younger age. I received A+ grades in GCSE in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, English, German, Spanish, Russian, DT and Geography and A grade in Music. In my A levels I received B grade in Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Spanish and an A+ grade in Russian. I have previous experience in teaching English at KS3 level and Biology, Chemistry and English up to GCSE level.
