I have just returned from teaching English in Bilbao, Spain since September 2018. I have been teaching English to toddlers, children and adults in Spain, Portugal and the UK for a total of 3 years.

I am a native speaker of English with a degree in Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Bristol and I am offering to teach English, Spanish and Portuguese both online and in the student's home.

I think that the most important thing is developing confidence when speaking another language. I believe that when the students feels like they know English and that they can speak English, then learning becomes a lot easier. For this reason I like to focus my classes on speaking and listening. I also teach writing, reading, grammar and vocabulary.

As a learner of languages myself (I can speak Spanish, Portuguese and Catalan), I know what the challenges are and I think that gives me a unique perspective and means that I can relate to the students and I have the ability to tailor classes to my student's needs.

Passion for working with people – My teaching experience and my post as a summer activity leader mean that I flourish when I am around people.

Communication – teaching English for three years, to students from ages 2 to adults, means that I have an excellent ability to communicate with people of all ages, cultures and walks of life.

Organisation – proven by my active role in organising private English classes during my time in Spain and Portugal, and my role in my university’s Sign Language Society of organising classes.

Enthusiasm – I bring my enthusiasm and love of being with people to every task I am given. I am full of energy and working with people is the perfect way for me to express my enthusiasm and creativity.
