Hi I’m Dan. Let me tell you why I should be your tutor.

I’ve been teaching for over four years now and have helped students of all ages from across the world. Most of the time I teach philosophy, but I also have experience and competencies in other areas. I worked for a year in an academy in the south of Spain and have taught hundreds of private tutorials, both online and in person.

My students tell me I am very good at making things accessible. My lessons are fun and engaging, the most rewarding moments being when a student tells me I’m wrong (it’s seems to happen more as time goes on – a good or bad sign?!). I’ve worked with a lot of people with exams specifically in mind - going over course material, working on exam technique, practising essay questions – but I’ve also had a lot of students who have come to me for help with things they are interested in learning for purely personal reasons. Of course my favourite students are the ones I get to keep for a long period, develop a strong relationship with, and see develop as the months pass. I will have you reciting Wittgenstein in no time!

In my other life I’m an MA student. I’ve had a number of my own papers published (some links below). I have first-class honours at BA and was previously an editor of an international undergraduate philosophy journal. I’m quite good at writing and improving essays, and I don’t mind sharing a few trade secrets…
