As a Master of Science (Earth Science) following a Physics undergraduate degree, I am hugely passionate about the advancement of science learning. With maths being the engine that allows scientific calculations to follow I am also keen in the promotion of mathematical knowledge and education. In my teaching I try to make learning as relevant as possible, offering real world problems or hypothetical situations - e.g. what does x = if 2(x+7)=24... imagine the brackets are showing a shopping bag; inside you have an x box game and £7 gift voucher... if you had 2 of these and someone was willing to give you £24 for both bags - how much is each game worth... I studied educational research at post graduate level before training to teach secondary and am a huge advocate for innovative approach to learning. I have also previously worked as a teaching assistant, tutored face to face, and lectured at undergraduate level in physics. I enjoy learning (an am a self confessed geek) but like to keep in real; relateable and fresh. I have experience in teaching ASD and PDA also so am versatile in style and approach. Live, laugh, love...Learn!
