I'm currently studying for a Master's by Research in French Literature at Durham University having completed my BA in French and German in June at Oxford University which included a year abroad spent studying in Germany and working in France. I have been working as a tutor since the beginning of September and have so far been helping students with GCSE French, GCSE German, and GCSE English.
During my year abroad I volunteered with the project 'Balu und Du' as a mentor to a nine year old body and currently volunteer with the elderly on a regular basis; I am an effective communicator who enjoys helping others. In my free time I enjoy yoga, aerial arts, reading, travelling, and cooking.
I am happy to tutor French and German at all levels from primary school right up to GCSE, A Level, and university and am also delighted to receive enquiries from people wishing to improve their French or German for personal or professional reasons; you don't have to be working towards a specific qualification! Whilst I have a working knowledge of French and German literary history and of most major texts, my literary studies have so far focused on the early modern period (sixteenth and seventeenth centuries) so I would be pleased to help tutees with literature from this period in particular.
I am also able to tutor English up to GCSE level, having done A Level English Literature and spent half of my undergraduate degree focusing on French and German literature; I have a thorough grounding in literary study.
I tailor my lessons and the resources I use to each individual student and their needs; I will always ask you how you learn best, what you want to cover, and what you ultimately want to get out of our sessions.
