Hello! I love teaching, and have been a qualified English teacher since 1999. My PGCE is from the University of Oxford, and my first degree is Joint Honours Archaeology and English, as I wasn't sure whether to be Indiana Jones or Charlotte Bronte.
In schools, I have taught years 5 to 13, from key stage 2 literacy to A Level English Literature. I have also taught GCSE Classical Civilisation. Before I became a teacher, I did some university level tutoring within the archaeology department while I did a research degree. I have also taught English as an Additional Language to teenagers and young adults from all around the world.
One to one tutoring is really beneficial at any level, but especially for those students studying at GCSE level. It's a brilliant opportunity to work with the student's strengths, and target any particular weaknesses. I am an examiner for different exam boards for GCSE and IGCSE. At the moment I tutor individuals who are studying for qualifications with the AQA, Pearson (Edexcel), WJEC and Cambridge exam boards. I have also contributed to English Language and Literature Study Guides published by CGP.
I hope to hear from you soon!
