I am a Politics and International Relations graduate who has up until recently been working in Investment Banking. I have been tutoring/mentoring for over 10 years and I absolutely love working with children and adults equally. I have a passion for teaching and take great pleasure in helping people learn new things, especially if they have struggled previously to grasp the concepts we cover. Having worked with a variety of personalities I know that not everyone learns the same and so my lessons will be tailored to the individual so as to get the most out of them. That being said there are some techniques I have found to be extremely effective in the past so will readily employ these first, whilst being mindful of the fact they may need to be adapted. During in high school I was an English and Maths tutor for primary school children aged 7-8, and I volunteered as a homework mentor for year 6 pupils helping prepare them for their 11+. Whilst at University I was employed as a Student support worker taking notes for fellow students with disabilities and helping them to revise for their exams. Since graduating I have been a reading mentor for year 4 children and an academic mentor for year 10/11 pupils helping them prepare for their GCSEs and work experience placements. I maintained an exemplary academic record throughout school and am happy to assist in all core subjects. Ultimately I would like to become a tutor as I feel as though this is an area where I can truly make a difference to peoples’ lives. I am willing to teach children and adults of all ages and as I maintained an exemplary academic record throughout school and am happy to assist in all core subjects. I have an A* GCSE in the following: English Language, English Literature, Maths, Statistics, Double Award Science (biology, chemistry and physics), French, History, Latin, P.E, I.T and Religious Studies. I have an A in AS level Maths and Critical thinking and an A in A level Economics & Business, Philosophy & Ethics and a B in A level English Language.
