£20 per hour
Hello! I am a recent graduate of Cambridge University, having achieved an undergraduate degree in Education with English Literature, and I have a passion for reading, learning and helping students achieve their full potential in English. I have had a considerable amount of teaching experience - both at primary and secondary school levels - and am currently undertaking a PGCE in Secondary English Language and Literature at Oxford University. Therefore, I am aware of all the recent changes in the grading of GCSEs and in exam questions, and know what is needed to achieve high marks. I have also worked as a teaching assistant, where I led after-school reading groups and exam preparation classes for a range of year groups. Here, I helped the students feel at ease and confident with a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction texts. Having grown up in Belgium, I am also fluent in French and have a strong working knowledge of Spanish; I would therefore be very happy to help out with difficulties in these subjects areas too. The hallmark of my teaching is a patient, calm and warm approach, so that every student feels that they can reflect and take time to work on exactly what they find most challenging.
I charge £10 per hour for KS1, KS2 and KS3 lessons; £15 per hour for GCSE-level lessons; and £20 per hour for A Level lessons - and this price includes interesting, fun resources that your child can complete in their own time. I will happily mark them and give your child feedback in the next session!
I am available to tutor any evening of the week or weekend apart from Mondays, from 5.30pm onwards. I am also free during the daytime at the weekend.
If you have any questions, do drop me a line! I look forward to hearing from you.
