Hello!
My name is Rebecca and I am passionate about literature.
I recently graduated with a first class degree in BA English language and literature from King's College London, where I am now taking an MA in eighteenth-century studies.
I tutor at GCSE, A level and undergraduate level. (Please note that for undergrad tutoring, I charge £25 an hour.)
I remember very clearly taking my own GCSEs and A Levels and I know how frightening the process can sometimes feel. My job as your tutor is to help you to feel confident walking into the exam hall, submitting your coursework or sitting down to complete your controlled assessment. The way I do this is by making sure you know what you need to do to answer the question exactly the way the examiner wants. I endeavour to keep abreast of changes to mark schemes across the various exam boards so that we can finely tune your answers to fit the marker's requirements and fulfil the assessment objectives.
I achieved 100% in all my English literature coursework across both GCSE and A level. I can help you to prepare thoroughly for controlled assessments as well as assist you with coursework through a rigorous re-drafting process that will produce a stylish and polished essays that fulfils all the marking criteria.
For undergrad students, I can also help in the drafting and redrafting of essays, providing honest and constructive feedback. In my university assessments I regularly achieved marks of 80+ and whilst for degree level work there is no set formula for success the way there is at GCSE and A level there are many things that can be done to push an essay towards those higher grades. I can insist you in various ways, whether that be improving writing style or making sure you have a solid argument and a clear structure. A fellow student on my BA course credits my help for the jump in her marks from the mid 50s and low 60s in her first and second years to regularly achieving first class marks in her final year.
If you have any questions please send me a message.
I look forward to hearing from you.
