I am currently a Masters student in Health Psychology at the University of Southampton. My course not only consists of Health Psychology modules, but also consists of many Statistics and Research Methods modules. My dissertation involves qualitative interviewing of Multiple Sclerosis healthcare professionals.

I also completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Southampton, for which i achieved a high 2:1. The course consisted of a variety of psychology modules, such as Clinical, Educational, Social and Cognitive Psychology, as well as Neuroscience and many research methods and statistics modules. My dissertation investigated the effects of a short online mindfulness intervention on levels of stress, depression, anxiety, alcohol intake and impulsivity.

At sixth form, I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma, for which I achieved 34 points (479 UCAS equivalent). The subjects I studied were Mathematical studies, English Language & Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Italian and Theory of Knowledge.

In the summer of 2016, I spent five weeks in Sri Lanka, whereby i undertook a Mental Health placement and taught English to a variety of ages and groups in schools and to the community. This experience extensively developed my teaching skills and psychological knowledge. The mental health part of my placement consisted of shadowing a clinical psychologist, working at the National Institute of Mental Health and various rehabilitation centres, and running therapeutic sessions for those with additional educational needs. More recently, I do some teaching as part of one of my modules in my masters degree, whereby I teach basic psychology and health psychology principles to secondary school students.

Other experience I have in Psychology and Health Psychology are volunteering with organisations such as Solent Mind, the Stroke Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society and a local Special Educational Needs centre.

I have a great passion for teaching and for Psychology. I am highly committed, enthusiastic and easy to talk to. I am also highly adaptable to individual learning preferences.

I can tutor Psychology (or various disciplines of), Statistics and/or Research Methods for any stage, up to an undergraduate level. I can also tutor English and various sciences up to A-Level/IB level.
