I have a BA(hons) in English Literature and qualified as teacher from Institute of Education. I have a Masters in Creative Writing. My students always achieve highly in exams. I am very passionate about raising literacy levels of students and enabling them to develop a passion for Literature and Language skills. I also run Creative Writing workshops for adults and children.
Tutoring Experience
I qualified as a teacher in 2000, and began my career as a dedicated classroom practitioner. I specialised in raising students attainment and under my teaching students achieved very highly. After spending two years working as Head of English abroad I returned to London to work as Head of English and Literacy. Over the last few years I have also specialised in teaching students with dyslexia, and those who struggle with school education and the impact that has on their emotional and mental health.
Tutoring Approach
My direct experience in the classroom and training as a qualified teacher allows me to give very specialist help for each student. I tailor lessons to suit your child's individual needs as well as helping them to reach examination success. I believe in a holistic approach to teaching young people and experience shows me that developing confidence and self belief goes together with exam success.
