I have over a year and a half's tutoring experience, having worked with a diverse range of students from 11+ to A-Level and beyond. I also garnered extensive classroom experience at the Heathland School in West London when I was attached to their SEN team for a year, mentoring students from Years 7-11 and assisting a talented group of sixth formers with their school magazine.
I've had a good relationship with all of my students. I believe that the needs of the particular tutee - his or her ability and aims - should determine the shape of the tutorials. My goal is to treat each student individually and put all of my effort into helping them achieve their full potential.
I have a B.A. in English Language and Literature (1.1) at Oxford University and an Mlitt in Poetry (Distinction) from The University of St Andrews University. I obtained four As at A-Level in English, History, History of Art, Religious Studies. Currently, I work as a freelance writer and editor and run a series of poetry workshops on the Southbank.
5/5, from Anastasia (A-Level English): William was very helpful in showing my daughter ways to improve her skills in A level essay writing, understand the structure of English Texts and carry out meaningful comparisons between them. William was practical and focused on techniques that would help her achieve higher marks.
He is currently tutoring my son focusing on GCSE level poetry. William is easy to get on with, enthusiastic and a good tutor despite his young age. His style of teaching is very approachable and is adjusted to the needs and personality of his tutee.
