I am a GCSE and A-Level English Literature tutor who has just completed my first year as an English undergraduate at University College London. I achieved an A in each of my A-Levels, which were in English Literature, Biology and Chemistry. I achieved 7 As, 4 As, 2 Bs and a C in my GCSEs. In both my English Literature and English Language GCSEs I achieved an A.
Before starting my degree, I decided to undertake two gap years. These years gave me valuable time to choose the right career path and university and enabled me to gain work experience.
I have experience teaching primary school age children through my voluntary work at a library. I have worked on the annual summer reading challenge program, helping children to choose books and discuss their reading. I find teaching incredibly rewarding; it was wonderful to be able to instill a love of literature in the children I worked with and help them progress to reach their academic potential. I have also assisted as a student ambassador on several occasions this year. This role involved advising prospective students about student life at my university. The aspect of the role I most enjoyed was being able to answer student’s questions and thereby enable them to feel confident about starting university.
I am an enthusiastic tutor who is very approachable; I am very flexible about how my lessons will be structured so they can be tailored to suit your needs and learning style. I am a very positive person and I therefore believe I am a good motivator and good at supporting and encouraging my students.
I can help you with whatever you need, whether it be how to write an essay, identifying literary devices, using context and critics or a more discussion-based advice session about exam technique or applying for university. I look forward to meeting you!
