Textiles teacher working in secondary schools for 10 years. Received a first class honours degree in Fashion from Kingston University in 2006 and completed a PGCE (secondary) Design and Technology at Goldsmiths University in 2010.
After graduation, worked as an illustrator for a global tween brand and freelance as a knitwear designer. Currently teaching GCSE and A-Level Art and design : Textile design, supporting students to produce mixed- media artworks , embroidered photographs , textile installations and garments. Range of skills taught consist of fashion illustration, CAD using Photoshop, hand and machine knitting, crochet, garment construction, free machine and hand embroider and felt-making. Along with these practical aspects, I provide literacy support to analyse the work of artists and designers and their understanding of their own work. Experienced with working with students with SEN. I am experienced , patient and encouraging. Former students of mine have been accepted to study on fashion courses at London College of Fashion, Kingston University and Nottingham Trent.
