I work in a London secondary school teaching KS3/GCSE Mathematics (Years 7-11), and GCSE Mathematics for resit Sixth Form students.
With over 26 years teaching experience, I'm very keen to impart learning to others. I graduated with a degree in Mathematics and its Applications from Cardiff University (1991) with Pure & Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Programming being key components of the degree.
On returning to London I enrolled at the Institute of Education on a PGCE teacher training course in secondary education and completed this obtaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in 1992.
I taught in both South London & Kent secondary and primary schools during the 1990s. In 1996 I helped to found a small independent primary school, developing and delivering its curriculum, including for Maths, English, Science, History, Geography, Music, Art and PE, with headship positions held from 1996-2001, also 2004 to 2015. During 2004-2015 I headed an independent school and registered charity & elective home-education centre. I presently teach in a London secondary school full-time.
My tutoring and teaching forte includes:
Mathematics KS2 (including for 11-plus exams) Mathematics KS3 - GCSE (including for Sixth Form GCSE resits) Statistics GCSE Microsoft Small Basic Computer Programming (8 yrs - adults)
Additionally, I have experience with teaching Mathematics to children and adults with Dyslexia.
